Louis Suarez 10 game ban

Running isn’t really a sport which gets you angry at your competitors, it’s more you against yourself and not thinking about other people – certainly at my level. However, in football it’s a different story.

Louis Suarez of Liverpool FC has been handed a 10 game ban for biting the Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic, here’s the video:

If you have any interest in sport you’ll know this already. So which games will he miss?

The ban starts immediately which means he’ll be ruled out of this weekend’s game away to Newcastle, he’ll then miss the rest of this season and the start of the next. Friendly matches and internationals will not count towards his ban, meaning that he’ll miss the final four games of this season:

Newcastle (away)

Everton (home)

Fulham (away)

QPR (home)

And then the first 6 of next season (which are yet to be confirmed).

He has until noon on April 26th to appeal the ban and Liverpool have confirmed that they will be reviewing the commission’s documentation when it is made available on Thursday.

Suarez could yet win the PFA player of the year award which is announced this Sunday – 28th April.

If you can cheat to win, should you? All sports are going to face this issue from time to time:
